| Marilyn L. King, C.P.M., manager, supplier diversity and purchasing systems, Alcon Labortories,
Inc., Fort Worth, Texas, was presented the Charles J. McDonald, Jr. Minority and Women’s Business Advocate Award by the Supplier Diversity Group (SDG), a special interest group of the Institute for
Supply Management TM (ISM). The award was presented by Betty Banks, SDG chair, at the ISM Annual
Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 8, 2006.
This award is given in honor of the first chairman of the SDG, Charles J. McDonald, Jr.
It is given annually to an ISM member in recognition of exemplary contributions in minority and women’s
business development. King is involved in a number of organizations that promote supplier diversity and was
instrumental in establishing a mentoring program at Alcon in 2002. |
