| The Strategic Planning Committee ensures that the MWBDG discharges its responsibilities to the MWBDG
membership by effectively planning and implementing operational strategies to achieve the vision, goals and
objectives of the organization. The strategic plan has a two-year forward-planning process with an emphasis
on the current year. The strategic plan is developed annually (during the February board retreat) and reviewed
semi-annually (during the August board planning session) to assess progress, determine constraints and develop
new priorities. Progress reports are submitted quarterly by each committee chair to the MWBDG Chair and
Strategic Planning Chair. Each year, the strategic plan is shared with the MWBDG membership during the annual
meeting which occurs during the ISM International Conference.
The Strategic Planning Chair serves under the direction of the Board Chair and works with the executive
committee and committee chairs in an oversight capacity. Additional responsibilities may be assigned to the
Strategic Planning Chair such as board effectiveness and training and new member orientation. |
